Phyllis Rawlinson Park History
The land was formerly held by Robert Marsh. In 1830, he sold it to George Forster and his wife, Margaret. On the farm where the Forster family lived for numerous generations, George and Margaret erected a log home and barn.
In 1934, Mary A.W. Rawlinson purchased the property from the Forsters. Mary Rawlinson was Marmaduke Arthur Rawlinson’s wife. The property was passed down to their daughter, Phyllis Rawlinson. Phyllis donated the farm to the Town of Richmond Hill. The park was named after Phyllis Rawlinson in recognition of this generous gift.

The park features:
A community garden – The garden is open to Richmond Hill residents and features raised beds, a tool shed, and a water station.
An off-leash dog area – The dog area is fully fenced and has a double-gated entry. It includes a water station, poop bags, and waste bins.
